National School Breakfast Week Celebrations

Students at Antelope Canyon Elementary School received a side of music and special treats with their homemade muffins and much more as the school joined others across the nation celebrating National School Breakfast Week. Bruce from Smith’s joined the fun in the cafeteria with his trumpet, treating kids to music and giving away some goodies. The cafeteria manager and staff were dressed in costumes like “Waffles and Syrup” as part of the celebration. The cafeteria staff served 277 Breakfasts!

National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. This year’s theme, “Score Big with School Breakfast,” reminds parents that a healthy school breakfast helps students achieve academic success in school so they can “score big” and reach their goals.

Right now, all school breakfast meals are free for any students K-12 thanks to a USDA fee waiver.

Studies show that children who eat school breakfast are more likely to:

  • Reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math
  • Score higher on standardized tests
  • Have better concentration and memory
  • Be more alert and maintain a healthy weight

Thanks to everyone in Nutrition Services for making mornings so bright for Antelope Canyon Students!
