Hello, I am Jason Hart. I'm a born and raised Utahn, growing up in Orem. I have a wonderful, young family of my wife, an adventurous daughter, and two goofy sons. I love spending time with my family and doing things outside. I'm regularly taking care of my garden and yard, as well as enjoying biking, hiking, camping, and fixing/making things. I have my Elementary Education undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, a master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Utah Valley University, and I am currently getting my Ph.D. in Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction from Utah State University. I've taught for eight years as a fifth and third grade teacher, and this year will be the first year I am an instructional coach.
I initially avoided teaching as a profession when I was in college. However, it didn't take me long to realize that helping kids learn was a passion of mine. So, I made some adjustments, and now I can't imagine being anything other than a teacher. I love seeing students learn to work through challenges and realize they can learn to do things that are hard for them. I'm greatly motivated to help students be prepared for the future by being able to think for themselves and learn to love learning. I am also passionate about helping teachers become their best selves, and I look forward to being a coach this year!
